something to tell you / an initiative

The Something to Tell You Initiative is about taking the shame and embarrassment out of reproductive health, laying a foundation for healthy behaviors and practices throughout life. Our integrated health approach starts with education about the body, hormones, anxiety and mental health.

Through our speaker series, podcast and educational materials, our goal is to improve physical, emotional and mental health among kids, teens and adults and equip them with new, modern tools and knowledge that are non-gendered and culturally affirming.

With enough funding our goal is to create:

  • The Something To Tell You: A branded bus that travels around the Austin area to distribute educational materials, hold workshops and distribute kits of products that lead to discussions about reproductive health, such a kit for puberty that would have razors, shaving cream, face wash, period underwear, etc. The bus will be accompanied by programming/workshops designed by licensed health professionals to address specific needs.

  • Something to Tell You App: The app will offer a platform for broad dissemination of modern and inclusive information about reproductive health. People will be able to communicate directly with health professionals, getting answers to their questions and sharing their stories in a safe space.

  • On-demand videos: The Born Into This in-house production team will build out web content with a coalition of sexual and mental health experts. Born Into This will engage people directly to share their voices and discuss the topics most important to them.

  • Peer-to-peer ambassadors: We will engage young people to create and deliver a Something to Tell You ambassador training program for peer-to-peer support.
